Our wedding anniversary is on August 22, and this year for our sixth, we were invited to go to Smith Island for a private Smith Island Cake demonstration and a crab cake at Drum Point Market!

It was very cool to see a part of Maryland that most (even some locals) have never been to! Smith Island is accessible only by boat, and is actually made up of 3 different small islands: Ewell, Tylerton and Rhodes Point. We spent our time in the Tylerton community!

At the end of this blog is also a video from Baltimore Positive of our experience making the state's official dessert: The Smith Island Cake. Mary Ada is such a spectacular woman, and both she and her family really showed us so much kindness during our tour!

We also got to have a scrumptious crab cake at the Drum Point Market ! The Market is owned and operated by Mary Ada's son, Duke. Trust us, his crab cake recipe was one of the best we've had!
