Do you ever feel completely disenchanted with your life? This is something my partner at work and I talk about sometimes. Like when I was a kid, I knew I wanted to work with books, but sitting at a desk all day getting yelled at by irate people what not at all how I pictured my glamorous life in publishing.
Sometimes I trick myself into thinking I’m helping other authors and aspiring writers achieve their dreams of writing for a living. And sometimes that is enough to get me through a regular work day. Other times (more often than not, lately) I get so fed up with work stress. But I know it's a necessary evil.
Right now, both Barry and I need to work so we can save up for some of the bigger adventures we want to go on. So while we are saving up for our month (or longer) jaunts to Asia, Europe, South America, India, etc - we are what I like to refer to as “Weekend Warriors”
Weekend Warriors are people that are forced to do most of their adventuring on the weekends. This isn’t terrible per se. After all, a ton of awesome things happen on the weekends! Especially if you live in or near a bustling city, like we do. THere is really no excuse to be bored on any weekend, but sometimes we find ourselves at a loss for what to do.
So just in case there is someone else out there that is struggling with the same problem of being a Weekend Warrior, I’m making a list of suggestions for things to do on the weekends. This is a suggestion list for others, but is also a list for our own adventures, too! Some things we’ve done, some things we have yet to explore. If we end up going on one of these adventures, I will add a link to our blog post about the experience!
If you have any suggestions, please comment and we’ll add them to the list! I will constantly be updating this list so feel free to bookmark or pin it!
