Over Halloween weekend, we took a quick 4-day trip down to Walt Disney World. A few months ago, Hanson (you read that right - THE Hanson Brothers of MMMBop fame) announced that they would be playing Eat to the Beat, the concert series which takes place during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival (full post of all the yummy treats we had this year coming soon!). Since Epcot is one of the only places you can get Mmmhops, Hanson’s own craft beer, I knew I had to experience drinking MMMhops while listening to MMMbop live! My little 90s baby heart was all aflutter.

As Disney Chase Visa card holders, we get a lot of great perks. A nice clean bathroom, free cold drinks, special meet and greets, the list goes on and on. But a great perk to the membership is the free wristband for preferred seating during the Eat to the Beat concerts! These wristbands are a first come, first serve basis, so it was important to get there early to get our wristbands. Luckily we did, because as soon as the World Showcase opened, we hoofed it to the Chase Lounge along with a ton of other Hanson-loving, 90's music fans eager to get wristbands of their own.

After we got our wristbands, we spent the day around Epcot, visiting friends and taking numerous walks ”around the world”. Around 5:30 it was finally time for the shows to start! They played 3 sets, and it was a blast!

And did I get to drink my Mmmhops and listen to Mmmbop? See the video below to find out!
Normally, the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that falls on Halloween Night is a very difficult ticket to come by. However, luck was on our side this year and tickets were still available! Knowing we were going to the Halloween party ON Halloween, we were fully aware we would have to bring it with our costumes. After much deliberation, we finally decided on Ursula (The Little Mermaid) and Hank (Finding Dory), the two Disney cephalopods!

We made our tentacles ourselves, with the help of an awesome friend who helped me figure out my sewing machine! Hank’s head was constructed from an inflatable pool toy, and the rest of the costumes were put together from clothes we already owned! We hardly ever buy store-bought costumes, putting them together is so much more fun!
Our tentacles were so large, we had to check them in our largest piece of luggage! And since this was whirlwind trip, both of us actually forgot major pieces of our costumes at home. Barry forgot his Dory (oh the irony!), but he realized it Saturday so he was able to get overnight delivery to the resort on Sunday. Unfortunately, I realized I forgot my Ursula necklace on Sunday, with no time to order a new one and without having any luck finding something similar in the Disney shops. I was devastated! But then I had the brilliant idea to go to Disney Springs on Halloween Morning to try and get them to draw one on, or possibly just do my villainous eyebrows! That would surely cheer me up! We went to the Sephora at Disney Springs where we met an amazing make up artist named Delilah. She did my amazing villain eyebrows for me, which were great fun walking around Disney Springs with!

After Sephora, we found ourselves wandering into the Arribas Bros. shop where they have in an in-house glass artist. This was when Barry had a brilliant idea! He asked the artist, Jerry Beasley, if he did custom work. At first he didn't think he would be able to do anything for us due to time constraints, but after discussing the concept for a while, he decided that it could in fact be done! Jerry saved the day! See the video below to see him in action!
The almost finished product, modeled by Jerry himself!

Barry stayed behind to watch Jerry work and I went back to Delilah to beg her to do my eye shadow. She had an appointment soon after, but she said she could definitely do my eye shadow. Then, by a bunch of Disney magic, her appointment never showed up, and she decided to finish the rest of my face! It looked AMAZING! It honestly made the whole look, I am SO grateful for her.
The party was a blast and our costumes were a hit! We love the party with the Hallowishes fireworks and the spooky music and the candy! I’m pretty sure we got about 8 pounds of candy by the time we were done trick or treating! See the slideshow below for some of our favorite shots in our costumes!
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is always a great time, I highly suggest timing your trip so that you can attend just one! If only to see the creative costumes that the guests come up with! Here are some of our favorites at the party (click the photos to enlarge)!
We even got to watch the Cadaver Dans serenade us with a few spooky tunes and one of my favorite haunting songs!! (see below)
Like I said before, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is always a fun time! Between the fun costumes, trick or treating, and the great character meet and greets you can experience, the price of the party ticket is well worth the fun you're gonna have!
