What do you do when you have a free Saturday and there is a punk rock flea market being held about an hour up the road? You get in your car and go!

The Captians Village (a vintage clothing shop) hosted a punk rock flea market in West Philly (near the zoo) with a ton of great artists, crafters and general punk rockers looking to share their wares with the world! There was a $3 admission to get in, but we got to meet a lot of great people and see a ton of great merch, so we didn't mind the small fee.

Our best score of the day was a pair of barely worn (I believe the gentleman said he wore them once - once!) Doc Martins that Barry grabbed for $20! Talk about a great deal!

We also bought this beautiful pin by KWT Designs, and I am still lusting after her Let's Explore paper airplane pin. Check her out on Instagram!

We also got to meet Gremlin, the derpiest, most adorable Frenchie at the whole flea market! He was such a good pupper! Gremlin also has his own Instagram, follow him here: @greminthederp
There were so many great vendors I wish we could have bought something from all of them! Here were some of the people we met that have cool stuff we think you'll love:
After getting very very burnt at the flea market, we headed over to Fishtown, an area of Philly we had never really explored before, but had gotten tons of recommendations to check out! We ate lunch at a pretty rad pizza joint called Pizza Brain (part pizza parlor, part pizza museum). The pizza was spectacular! We had a slice of Kira Tierston (featuring bacon, red onion, blackened brussel sprouts) and a slice of Queenie (a white pizza with a couple different types of mushrooms). The slices were HUGE and delicious! There was also an ice cream shop attached that had some interesting flavors like Pumpkin Curry, Cucumber Dill, and Cricket Cake (the last of which features flour made from ground crickets - sounds gross but actually tasted really good!) We ordered Pumpkin Curry and Bourbon Bourbon Vanilla and they were so good we forgot to take pictures!
There is nothing better than a good flea market! Especially one that includes artists along side people selling their personal items. It gives you a great opportunity to meet some awesome people and support some great small businesses at the same time!
